Halloween?

Howdy Folks-
 I wanted to share with ya'll a short story I wrote back in 2009.
I'm not editing it, so what you will read in the following is my little mind at work to write in accordance with what I believed the Lord had for me to get on paper.

Halloween?
A question and God's Answer!

Did you know that Halloween is something called Falsehood? October is a scary month (and don't ask me why some people like to scare little children, it does not make much sense.
I haven't researched it much, but I guess Halloween is a time when the (so called) evil spirits are supposed to visit people, don't ask I don't know why.
And do you know also that this world is trying to make God, Jesus our Creator, a time in the past; :(
"He doesn't exist" or "We came from apes" (Good grief they must be crazy.)
But, my Dad told me they don't want to give God the credit. (How sad) :(
Our country was (and still is) based on the faith of our founding fathers. (tho some people don't follow Jesus anymore) :(   And that's sad, because didn't He die for those people?  All of us in fact! :)
"For while we were still helpless at the right time Christ died for the ungodly." Romans 5:6
It's your choice how to celebrate Halloween, but I hope this has changed your perspective on the subject.
Till He comes, (which will be soon)

Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready. Revelation 19:7

A question to ponder :)
The Lord will be coming soon! :) Are you ready?????

Haha, my writings sometimes have no focus or clear direction and I am so thankful that my writing skills have improved since then. I really enjoy looking back though and reading these short stories I wrote when I was younger because I love to reread the Scripture references and see how well God enabled me to place them in the right accordance with my current topic.

Thanks for reading!

P.s. How can I pray for you?

My tribute slideshow for David.

David, you touched so many lives with your own. You danced the dance. You fought the good fight. You weren't perfect, but you knew a perfect Lord, and glory be! for spending a wonderful eternity with Him forever more!
May we all be"living OUTSTANDING for Christ"
And... may we all be a "Sharpie" for the Lord, leaving the permanent mark of the gospel and our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.

Until His return and blessed splendor forever more in heaven,
Emmygirl

P.s. Are you sure YOU will go to heaven when you die?

SO many pictures!!!!!!

Howdy Folks-

So the Lord blessed me this this new addition!!! I call her "Precious" :)  My brothers and I had a more appropriate name for her (but for the sake of my Mother ;) I will withhold from revealing that name here. There is a story behind it.

She is so fluffy and full of so much spunk, especially considering how small she is! Shes gonna learn to cuddle! <3

 Here is what Momma had for supper....she had made it so pretty I just had to take a picture!

 I love washing dishes with Momma's chicken apron on.....and I love chickens! Just in case anyone didn't know that fact about me ;)
Azure's new sale catalog is out for the month! In it has a great article on a young man who raises chickens I found to be a very good read....
....Speaking of good reads....Here are a couple books Momma bought from Azure.
I've been reading The Lean Farm, excellent read! Here is a short quipt I liked so far
'When yields per acre or gallons per cow is your only standard of success, when living animals are "production units" and produce or grain fields are nothing more then "profit centers" then the mystery of life is overlooked and the health of the planet suffers.'

 Beautiful fall weather around here of late! :)

Momma and I had a "girls day" in Fargo! Time was well spent talking, shopping, encouraging, getting our hair done, blessing others and of course eating! :)

Gingersnaps are good with milk!

Practicing piano this evening....Does anyone know this song???? :)

Welll, I think the Lord is telling me to get some sleep. Three more days of work and then I can start on the projects around here at Natural Crossroads Farm.
Please be praying for me to stay focused on the things of the Lord and in that I am able to find abundant springs of joy!

And now may your harvest be abundant, garden soil contented, and homegrown meals delicious!
(I tried doing a Joel Salatin goodbye there, haha)

Goodnight!

Pumpkin Cornbread with honey butter

....and apples, haha! I just came down from cooking more apples. We sure have been blessed with them! :)  I will probably make apple sauce this time.
The fall weather has been beautiful around here lately!
A few rain showers here and there. It was cold again yesterday so beet trucks were going to beat the band! Gosh, they sure drive fast sometimes.
 The break of dawn my last day being a Deli Assistant!
But now finish doing it also, so that just as there was the readiness to desire it, so there may be also the completion of it by your ability. ~2 Corinthians 8:11

Got this Snapchat from my cousin....I'm so happy to see Grandpa doing what he loves!!
Momma tried this AMAZING new recipe called Pumpkin Cornbread. Joshua made the honey butter to go along with it and I will share the recipe here with ya'll!!

Pumpkin Cornbread

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup canned pumpkin puree (My mom used squash and it tasted great!)
1/2 cup sour cream
2 large eggs

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In mixing bowl whisk together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves for 20 seconds. Make a well in center of flour mixture then set aside.
In a separate mixing bowl, add brown sugar and break clumps of sugar until fine. Add melted butter and pumpkin (or squash) and whisk to combine.  Mix in sour cream and eggs until wel blended. Pour into flour mixture and fold with a rubber spatula just until no streaks of flour remain. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan and pour batter into pan. Spread until you have an even layer, bake until toothpick comes out free of batter. About 25-30 minutes.
Joshua's honey butter is simply a good amount of pasture butter with your desired taste of honey and whip with a fork. Simple as that!
Its delicious folks! :)

As I enjoy Joshua playing piano I hear my name being called for lessons.....

Encouragement; sorely needed these days

"Encouragement plays a huge part in a persons life"
-The Study of Acts (my sermon notes)
A man has joy in an apt answer, and how delightful is a timely word! ~Proverbs 15:23

We all need encouragement. My scripture search on the word "encouragement"
Jesus talks about the importance of encouragement and lifting others up until His return to us.
Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.
~ 1 Thessalonians 5:11

We as fallen humans have a desire to be noticed and appreciated. A desire God Himself put in our hearts! His intention for our use of that desire is to come to Him when we fill we need to be lifted up and praised. He in His goodness will humble us in our pride and show us our incredible worth in Him!!
I will lift my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
~Psalms 121:1-2

 I love this quote. The same can be said of observing how people treat each other.

Lately, I've noticed and found it increasingly sad how wives put their husbands down. They hardly encourage the guy! Men have a hard life to live....God calls them down a very different road then He does women. Once we see the godly men God has put in our lives the more we as women need to encourage them! Encouragement is not a strong suit of mine and I am not married, BUT that doesn't mean I have no one to encourage. God has blessed me with a father and brothers whom I am learning to encourage on a daily basis.
And one other thing to remember when encouraging ANYONE.....take notice of them, but encourage them in a way that glorifies the Lord and gives Him the credit for the work in their life. Encourage lasting attributes and not things that will fade away. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more and its place acknowledges it no longer. ~Psalm 103:16
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. ~Luke 21:33

Give selfless praise. And don't forget to encourage your mothers! They do so much for us! :)

Productive Day! And promised video.

Howdy ya'll~

I didn't work yesterday so I was blessed to get some projects done!
I started piano lessons for the year, I am so glad to have Jordan as my teacher! We get along so great and she is a lovely example to me :)

 I finished canning the apple butter. Smells so good!
 I love how the Lord cares about the little things! All you canners know how we try to fit as many jars in the water bather and all my jars fit perfectly! It made me smile knowing God did that just for me :)
 Washing dishes + sun shining + a fall-ish breeze =best thing ever!!!
All done! Yay!!! Momma has bread dough rising for supper so we can have warm bread, pastured butter and fresh apple butter. Such a great treat! I love eating like this! :)
 I went outside to enjoy the beautiful afternoon and what do I find, but Joshua tilling the garden!
It leaves me with a sad, yet peaceful feeling. Mmmm dirt!

"There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven-
A time to give birth and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Peter has some projects in the shed he was working on. Fixing his four-wheeler is one of them.
These are the beets he pulled from our garden before Joshua started tilling.

 Awww, our farm kitties.....the kittens died, sadly. But we still have these precious faces :) I am in the market for my own cat, I miss Mittens and would love to have another cuddly kitten! Let me know if anyone has any to give away!!!! :)

Great job Joshua! :)

 Peter and his stick shift Chevy s10 . He put the stack on himself and spray painted it, it looks awesome!
 My crazy brother!!! :)

 I rode with Peter and asked more questions about driving a stick shift. He's a pro lemme tell ya!

 Fresh bread with homemade apple butter! YUMMY!!

 After supper Peter got a hold of my camera somehow :p  and took these pictures of me cutting up more apples to cook up for either apple butter or apple sauce.

Momma filled the one crockpot and together we filled all three crocks with apple to cook up. Joshua photo bombed this one :) I've got awesome brothers! And wonderful parents! I am just so so blessed!

 Thank you Joshua for recording this! I pray it blesses someone today and for future years!

"You will make known to me the path of life; In your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever more."
~Psalms 16:11

Its a beautiful morning ya'll! I'm just out basking in His goodness! :)

Thank you Lord for lifting me up on Your shoulders!

The apple butter has been cooking away! Ahhh the smells of fall :)
~~~~~~
Yesterday was a very cool day....the kind of day you just wanna curl up on the couch with a good book and some tea, coffee, apple cider or hot chocolate...pick your choice ;)
 Doing chores my nose got a little nippy! Hens didn't even want to come out of the coop for their scraps! But my water ain't freezing yet so I am thankful.
Beet harvest is in full swing here.....I stopped at Yaggie piler to watch the process. Its quite fascinating let me tell ya!
John Deere combines frequent our gravel roads as they are in the midst of harvest too.
 Green beans(with lots of pastured butter ;)  and deliciously sweet carrots from our garden.....and.....
 ......The last BLT of the season :( :(
"There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment."
Proverbs 12:18-19
