Sunbeams

๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽœ You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are grey.
You'll never know dear,
how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away. ๐ŸŽถ

The sunbeams returned for a few days last week and it was amazing!
Gotta have a few days of scramble before it rains again....

Joshua, my market helper and coffee.....because it was a tad chilly....needed hand warmers.

 Market was a bit slow last week, had a lot of leftovers.
 I had a new request for braided Challah bread.
It turned out nice. Tasted fantastic!
Someone told us we look like sisters. This gal is such an encouragement to me and always seems to show up when I am downhearted and doubtful.
Thursday was shop day for the Blazer. An oil change that was much needed. A few other checks on the levels and greasing to do. I was encouraged because this was the first time in a couple years I was able to manage my brain power and figure out how to work this wrench to screw off the filter!
 Friday was apple day. I went. all. day. Finished up a couple bushels of apples. Made dried apples, apple butter, apple sauce, apple crisp, apple pie filling....
 WASHING. CUTTING. SLICING. CORING.
 CANNING.
DRYING.
Tried a new method of storing the carrots I dug.
Placed in plastic tote with damp potting soil and store in cool dry place.
Peter and Joshua took a trip down to St. Cloud to sell Joshua's truck.
There are lakes in the fields out here.....๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง Its VERY moist.

 Dad got more tin. Joshua and he were able to finish the remainder of the shed.
Looks good now!
Mom bought Mum's for the deck
Very welcoming, dontcha think?
"Muscles" helping me move a table.
 Saturday we had some fine people from Rollag out for supper.
Laughs were had, and had and had.
There were served warm squash biscuits and yummy soup!
Pumpkin bars and apple crisp. (of course๐Ÿ˜œ)
Glorious sunrise Sunday!
Need I say more?
Today simply found me finishing up some canning projects, labeling jars, making supper,
washing dishes and folding laundry. My favorite part was the coffee date with Angela, shes a keeper, I am so thankful for her friendship and our kindred spirits.
Twas a decent day. How was your day?

Goodnight Folks,

See

The power of observance

You find beauty in glorious majesties
You see the pain in peoples eyes and experience joy in a much anticipated burst of a blossom
You know the meaning of a silent glance or a withering glare
Your eyes are miraculously intricate and far beyond amazing
You see colors and watch sunshine splash an evening sky
You glance longingly after those you love and stare passionately into a beautiful soul
You feel pain, express fears & anguish over a death
You look in amazement over the change of seasons and preogresson of time passing
Your eyes are a miracle, yet so easily taken for granted
EYES. ARE. POWERFUL.

Emotions like passion, hatred, love, hurt can be caught in a fleeting glance
Eyes tell a story
You can establish an understanding of another person based on looks, stares and gazes
You have a chosen color of the rainbow to set apart your eyes from another
You see pain, hurt, joy, sadness, mercy, love, thoughtfulness, endurance, tenderness and purity all sparking in a humans life
......what would life be WITHOUT the ability to observe?

Thankful

Mom.....today is a milestone. I couldn't see it then, but by God's grace I see it now <3 Our circumstances may not always be "good" in our eyes but yet, we serve a GOOD God and His character is always true. Praise the Lord you are still alive!

Settle

 Some days it can feel like we are
running on empty....

and yet,
there is grace.
**********************************************
What a beautiful day it was today!
I was able to get quite a few jobs finished,
with the help of Joshua and Mom!
After some peeling and chopping I made 14 quarts apple pie filling.
 Made it outside to finish hauling in some squash for the chickens to play with this winter. That is swiss chard drying for them as well.

We got quite the harvest on carrots this year!

 Joshua and I dug all of them this fine evening!
We also killed about 6 mice in amongst the long rows to pull.
He is quite the guy!

The evening sky sure was something else tonight! I was outside as much as I could be
(In between making supper and chicken chores)
I just finished chopping the carrot greens off and came in from star gazing and
just soaking in this gorgeous day๐Ÿ’š

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mom made our annual tomato pie a couple days ago for dinner.
It was worth all her work, the crust was buttery and melt in your mouth delicious!
After digging all our potatoes, Joshua told me he liked twice baked taters, so I grabbed some bacon, butter, chives and cheese and whipped these up for supper the other night.
Helping Mom out, running just a few of our thousands of tomatoes through
the food mill to make juice. She has been a trooper this year and
I am so thankful God made her so much better then a year ago.
I got most of our many squash to fit on the designated shelf in the garage!!
Excited for that first taste of buttercup squash, butter and brown sugar :)
 Our very first snowfall was beautiful. We didn't get nearly as much as I was hoping for, but it got plenty cold and windy the one night. Looking forward to more white stuff to snowmobile in!
Our driveway is a MESS by the way, bring 4-wheel drive
.....just in case anyone visits๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜œ
 Another project Joshua just finished today was cleaning out the pig pen.
I got most of the side walls down for him and he was able to use our bobcat and haul out the
"good stuff" to the garden this afternoon.
I made a long trip to Miltona to get the remaining chickens
I lost when Dad and I were loading the others about a week ago.
Then to Henning for 200lbs of feed I ordered.
Stopped in Parker's Prairie to see this beautiful Case steam engine๐ŸคŽ
My favorite photo from the ladies retreat I attended with some gals from church.
I love this lady๐Ÿ˜
So many blessings to count.
The time is short.
"Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden crown on His head and a sharp sickle in His hand.
And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, "Put in your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come,
because the harvest of the earth is ripe."
Then He who sat on the cloud swung His sickle over the earth,
and the earth was reaped."
